Joseph Ronald "JR" Quinahan (born May 8, 1984 in Cebu City, Philippines) is a 6 ft 5 center/forward who is a Filipino professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association for the Alaska Aces.
About the Player
Dubbed “Baby Shaq” in the Philippine Basketball League where he played for Granny Goose because of physical resemblance to Miami Heat center Shaquille O'Neal.
Quinahan plays a lot like O’Neal, too. On offense he prefers to post up inside the paint and he is stone wall on defense. He has a decent stroke from the outside and can consistently hit the open jumper from any distance.
A fearless defender in the post he was assigned to guard man-mountain Asi Taulava of the Talk 'N Text Phone Pals in his very first game in the Philippine Basketball Association.
He more than held his own and even rammed the ball down the giant Fil-Tongan’s throat with a block late in the game.
