John Abramovic

John "Brooms" Abramovic, Jr. (born February 9, 1919 in Etna, Pennsylvania – died June 9, 2000) was a 6-3 professional basketball player.
He went to Etna High School and attended Salem International University.
In 1946 he started playing for the Pittsburgh Ironmen in the Basketball Association of America (BAA), the forerunner of the NBA, when he was 27. Abramovic also played in the league for part of the 1947-48 season. He played the small forward position.
John died on June 9, 2000. He was 81 years old.

- John was the first person to score 2,000 points in NCAA history.
- John was inducted in the Pennsylvania and West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
