The KeyArena is a mutilpurpose arena in Seattle, Washington. It was the home to the former NBA team Seattle SuperSonics from 1967–1978, 1985–1994, 1995–2008. The first Sonics game in the arena was played on November 4, 1995, against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The KeyArena is owned and operated by the City of Seattle. Construction began June 16, 1994, and doors were opened on October 26, 1995. Its basketball seating capacity is 17,072, and its dimensions are 400,000 square feet: Exterior: 360 feet by 360 feet. Height: 135 feet.
The arena sits on the campus of the Seattle Center, a 74-acre entertainment complex located on the north side of downtown Seattle.
