Lorenzo Emile Charles, nicknamed Zo (November 25, 1963-June 27, 2011) was a former American professional basketball small forward.

Charles is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School. While playing for the North Carolina State University Wolfpack, Charles scored the game-winning dunk in the championship game of the 1983 NCAA Division I Men's Tournament over the heavily favored Houston Cougars led by Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde "The Glide" Drexler and the rest of Phi Slama Jama. Coincidentally, Charles would go on to play for a Cougars team years later — for the United States Basketball League Raleigh Cougars.

Charles was selected 41st overall in the 1985 NBA Draft and went on to have a modest professional career, playing briefly in the National Basketball Association with the Atlanta Hawks, as well as several European teams.
