Omri Casspi (Hebrew: עמרי כספי, born June 22, 1988 in Yavne, Israel) is a professional Israeli basketball player currently playing for the NBA's Sacramento Kings at the small forward position.
Casspi is said to be Israel's next best chance of seeing a native play in the NBA. While only playing ten minutes of the game, Casspi shot three field goals from three attempts, including a three point shot, for a total of eight points against the New York Knicks during a charity game on October 11, 2007 between Maccabi Tel Aviv and the Knicks.
He was selected in the first round (23rd pick overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.
Cleveland Cavaliers
On June 30, 2011 , the Sacramento Kings traded Casspi to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Forward J.J. Hickson. [1]
