Paul Hogue

Paul H. "Duke" Hogue (born April 28, 1940 in Knoxville, Tennessee) is a retired American basketball player.
A 6'9" center, Hogue starred on the University of Cincinnati basketball team which won the 1961 and 1962 NCAA Division I Men's Tournament championships. For the 1962 tournament Hogue was named Most Outstanding Player. In the final game he scored 22 and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead the Bearcats to a 71-59 victory over their arch-rivals, the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was named all-conference in 1961, 1962 and 1963. He was named to the All-American team in both 1961 and 1962.
He was the second player chosen in the first round of the 1962 NBA Draft. He had a brief career (1962-64) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the New York Knicks and Baltimore Bullets, averaging 6.3 points per game.
Paul Hogue is a member of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame and the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame. In 2007 he was named to the Missouri Valley Conference list of Men's Basketball 50 Greatest Players.
