Pete Trgovich

Pete Trgovich was a member of the 1971 East Chicago Washington High School Senators basketball team, which went undefeated (29-0) and won the Indiana state high school basketball championship. Among his teammates were Ulysses "Junior" Bridgeman (who played at the University of Louisville) and Tim Stoddard (N.C. State), who would go on to have success as a Major League Baseball pitcher.

Trgovich played his college ball at UCLA, under Coach John Wooden.

Trgovich was drafted by the San Diego Sails in the fourth round of the 1975 ABA draft and by the Detroit Pistons in the third round of the 1975 NBA Draft.

Trgovich coached East Chicago Central to the Indiana AAAA state championship in 2007 and abruptly resigned soon thereafter. Trgovich accepted the head coach position at nearby Indiana University Northwest, beginning with the 2007-08 season
