Roland Minson

Roland Minson (born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA) is a former American professional basketball player. A 6'0" (1.83 m), he attended college at Brigham Young University, where he played four season for the Brigham Young Cougars, averaging about 12.6 points per game. Minson was selected in the second round (15th pick overall) of the 1951 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks.

Roland Minson starred on the 1951 BYU NIT Championship team, taking home the NIT MVP trophy at the conclusion of the tourmament. The NIT was considered equal to, if not better than the NCAA tournament until at least the mid-1950's. Also starring on the 1951 BYU team was eventual #2 overall NBA pick and 5-time All-Star Mel Hutchins.
