Scott Skiles (born March 5, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player and current Head coach. Through his first two seasons with the Bulls he has led the club to a record of 66-82 (.446) and he owns an all-time NBA head coaching record of 182-161 (.531) He is the 15th head coach in franchise history. In his first full season with the Bulls, he lead his squad to a 47-35 mark, the third best in the Eastern Conference, and to the franchise’s first playoff berth in seven seasons. The 47 wins was an improvement of 24 games from the 2003-04 season (23-59) and the second-best one-season turnaround in team history. Under his direction, Chicago limited its opposition to an NBA-best .422 field goal percentage. Skiles’ defensive-minded Bulls also held their opponents to a franchise record and NBA season-high 26 straight games below 100 points. He was named NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for January 2005 after guiding the Bulls to an NBA best 13-3 mark, including a seven-game winning streak. After a two-year absence from the game, he joined the Bulls on Nov. 28, 2003, and inherited a 4-12 team. The team responded immediately under Skiles and snapped its seven-game losing streak with a 97-87 win over Milwaukee.
