Joachim "Sonny" Thoss (born on December 7, 1981 in Papua New Guinea) is a 6 ft 7 and 205 lb center who is a Filipino-Papua New Guinea professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association for the Alaska Aces.

About the Player

The 6-7 center debunked the so-called ‘sophomore jinx’ with another decent 2005-06 season with the Aces. A member of the All-Rookie Team named by the PBA Press Corps two years ago, Thoss appeared in all 49 games, started 28 times and averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.

Though his numbers were a bit down compared to his rookie year, the Papua New Guinea-born cager held his own against the best centers in the league and one good thing about it is he’s just warming up. But he needs to develop his perimeter shooting in order to be more effective in the game.
