Soul in the Hole, from 1997, is a raucous, intimate documentary about Brooklyn's street-basketball culture follows Kenny's Kings, the Bed-Stuy dream team, as its winning streak carries it all the way to the finals of the legendary Soul in the Hole Classic tournament. However the film is about more than the game; the emotional focus is the relationship between the coach and his star guard--18-year-old legend Ed "Booger" Smith who is as charismatic as he is emotionally troubled. Thrown out by his mother, Booger is rescued from the tough city streets by his surrogate father Kenny Jones.

The documentary features Kenny Jones, Kenyetta Jones, Ronnet Jones and Ed Smith. It was directed by Danielle Gardner.
