Michael Taylor "Tate" Armstrong (born October 5, 1955, in Moultrie, Georgia, USA) is a retired American professional basketball player. He attended high school at Spring Woods, located in Houston, Texas. A 6'3" point guard from Duke University, Armstrong won a gold medal with the United States national basketball team at the 1976 Summer Olympics.

Armstrong was selected in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 1977 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He played two years with the Bulls, averaging 3.8 points, 1.1 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per game. He played a total of 92 games in the NBA, scoring 350 points.
