I have been sick for about 6 days now! I went to the doctor on Thursday and he gave me an antibiotic, but it isn't really helping. I've been so congested, my nose is sore from constantly blowing my nose. I can't hear very well because my ears are all clogged up and I haven't been able to taste or smell anything the past couple of days either. I haven't been this sick in years! I feeling like I'm losing my mind. So sweet and thoughtful of him, so that really cheered me up. I wasn't expecting to see him because I didn't want to get him sick. But I was super suprised he rented the movie on his Netflix just for me since he knew I wanted to see it and I was sick and miserable. He also surprised me some more and brought his Wii over since he said he hasn't been using it and got me the Biggest Loser Wii game. I mentioned it to him one night on the phone and it really made me realize that he actually does listen! I couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. The few hours we spent together Friday night were great because I didn't really think much about being sick. I wouldn't say I haven't been eating well this week. I have been under my daily points everyday. And this is the first week that I didn't use any weekly points. However, I haven't had much of an appetite because I can't taste anything. I've been eating a lot of soup and drinking tons of water. I really haven't had any type of solid food. I was supposed to take my boyfriend out on Saturday night to celebrate him starting his new job on Monday. I had reservations to one of his favorite restaurants which serves this italian and creole style food. We were going to go ice skating by the river. But my plans obviously didn't go through because of my illness. So hopefully we are still able to go next weekend. I'm dying for something good to eat and to not have to go through another box of tissues. Let's hope next week is a lot better! I am dying for some decent solid foods and to not to have to lay around and watch dvr'd episodes of house hunters and criminal minds! I miss the gym!!!
New ipod, new playlist! My old ipod wasn't working very well, I could only hear out of the right earphone, and i purchased new earphones, so I know that wasn't the problem. It also wasn't hold a charge long either,Monster Cable, I kept having to carry a charger around and make sure I could charge it every couple of hours. And it was only 2GB so it was full and I kept having to delete songs so I could add new ones. So annoying! I went to Target yesterday and purchased myself a brand new one (courtesy of all the Target giftcards I received for Christmas,Monster Beats By Dre, Thank you everyone who listened!). These ipods have really come along way. I thought I was just getting a simple Nano. But this one is 8GB so it can hold a lot more music than my other one. It also includes a camera (don't know if I'll use that very much), but it includes a radio, alarm, calender. I used it yesterday when I took a quick walk during my lunch break! I also splurged a little and bought myself the arm band so when I'm running or using weights I'm not constantly dropping the ipod out of my pocket. It's a pretty bright green too! So in celebration of my new ipod, I made myself a new workout playlist. It contains some of the songs from my previous, list plus a few new ones. After the all the snow recently, I've been kind of slacking off with working out. I have been to the gym once, in almost 2 weeks. When I'm there I totally enjoy working out and pushing myself. I just don't have time. I work two jobs and so 2 weeks a month, I'm working 7 days a week and my gym hours aren't very convenient with my work schedule when I have to work on the weekends. Winter is kicking my a** this year! It's dark all the time, freezing cold and not to mention the record snow fall in Philadelphia. There isn't enough day light and space to actually go running or for a walk. I'm hoping by some miracle the temperature just starts rising above normal and the snow will quickly melt! I miss going for runs in the park and this would be great on the weekend after I get done work because I can't really get a good workout in before the gym closes. I'm considering buying some free weights, and getting some type of exercise DVD. I could get in a work out, shower and still get to work on time. My gym is on the way to and from work but isn't really convenient to go to in the morning before work. I don't think my co-workers would appreciate me all sweaty and gross! I would just like to squeeze some more workouts in during the week and I think thats the best way. I'm past the point of making excuses to not go, I want to be there, but I have 2 jobs and school work. I barely have a social life anymore because I'm trying to do too many things and weight loss is another time consumer! Although the results are great and beneficial!So enough complaining for me! I'll be sitting on a computer all day at work Saturday and Sunday looking into some at home workouts that I can do when I can't get to the gym. HURRY UP SPRING!!!
I am so excited to report I've lost 10lbs! Actually, I am more than excited. I'm extremely happy and even more motivated to keep losing. My goal was to lose 25lbs. I can't believe I've lost 10 in about 4 weeks! It keeps me happy and motivated to keep working towards my goal. This weight loss thing is like having another job. It takes time, planning and EFFORT! I found myself having a hard time with staying on point last week, however I was still able to lose 2lbs. I was amazed when I got on the scale this morning and saw the drop in weight. I really dipped into my weekly allowance this week. Besides being stuck in the house for 3 days straight due to the over 3 feet of snow accumulated in less than a week! I didn't make it to the gym at all, and I didn't even try to find other ways to exercise. I just tried to not go over my points each day and I wasn't very successful at that either. I did my best to keep myself occupied to not eat. Then Valentine's Day came this weekend. And I had dinner with my boyfriend's family who does this annual dinner for V-Day with chicken kiev (which is 18 points a serving, if you were wondering). I didn't really eat all day Saturday, and just eating that really made me dip into the weekly points. But it was worth it! And I spent all week doing my best so I could enjoy myself Saturday night. This week I'm back to work each day which helps stay busy and occupied so I'm not thinking about food. I've also scheduled in my gym time and planned my workout for each of those gym days. I was supposed to step up my game last week and since I didn't make it to the gym last week, I'm ready to get there this week and get it going! I'm ready for another week! I am wrapping up week 3. Tomorrow morning I have to get on that scale, again. I've noticed each week I am more and more tempted to get on the scale before my weekly weigh-in. I have been working on better eating habits and finding things I like to eat or would like to try. I've been spending a good amount of time at the gym and recently set myself some workout goals, so I can start to mix it up at the gym and work out harder. I can't do that, after eating a turkey and cheese sandwich everyday for lunch for about 5 years in elementary school, I never want to hear about a turkey and cheese sandwich. It's easy to make and pack for lunch, but its boring eating the same thing all the time. I've learned that I need to try new things and keep mixing it up in order to stay interested. Same thing is applying to my workouts. I've been walking on the treadmill for about 45 minutes doing about 3 miles on a 4.5 incline. I've been working up a sweat and then doing some free weights to help tone my arms. I've run in the past but never as long as I've wanted too. I won't be able to get to the gym until Tuesday, but I will do some running intervals on the treadmill for about half an hour. Run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes. This will be a lot better than just walking along for 45 minutes. I really need to push myself. I find that I feel so good when I'm done working out. however the motivation to get there, and actually work hard is lacking. I know once I start to do it, I'll be able to get in the habit of mixing up my work out and trying things differently. I'm also going to do some crunches this week. I thought it was just a case of the monday blues that was keeping me in this somber mood, but I've come to realize that wasn't it. It's not that time of the month, so I can't figure out why I feel this way. I had my second weigh in yesterday. I didn't lose any weight between week 1 and week 2. So here we are at week 3. I'm going to try a little bit harder at the gym and maybe change around some of the eating habits I have this week. Instead of snacking on low point snacks, I should just be eating more fruits and veggies. Fine, no problem. I have no issues changing up my diet. I'm dedicated to weight loss and this isn't really whats bothering me either. Then it all hit me today. I've had the same job for about 2 1/2 years and it's my first "real' job. Some of my co-workers are really starting to get under my skin and it's putting me in an unpleasant mood and making me really not want to be here. I have the greatest boss anyone could ever ask for and then my small group of work friends who I admire and enjoy working with.
